The pod walls separate slightly from the frame, with the 4 seeds often remaining inside until March. The seeds are black stripes on white or blue-grey. You should put fresh seeds in hot (50C) water, cover, and let stand for 12-24 hours. Then, mix seeds with moist seed-sowing mix and leave them out for another 24 hours before sowing. For stored seed, the water temperature should be 70-90C, and leave them in it for 48 hours.
