Seed Comments |
The seed pod is quite unusual, and consists of two valves. The seeds are usually dull, grey-green to tan or buff-brown with black, and about 2-3 mm long. There are about 6 seeds per pod. You should put fresh seeds in hot (50C) water, cover, and let stand for 12-24 hours. Then, mix seeds with moist seed-sowing mix and leave them out for another 24 hours before sowing. For stored seed, the water temperature should be 70-90C, and leave them in it for 48 hours. Stratification aids germination.
