Native Gardens Award 2004

The Christchurch City Council and the Canterbury Horticultural Society established the Native Garden Awards for gardens that represent and display New Zealand native plants and habitats in Christchurch. If you have got a garden with native plants - all styles are welcome - wild to formal cottage garden; and pure to mixed arrangements. Entries close 31 January 2004...

General Restoration Forum
Hello to everybody at NZERN, I have just discovered this group and web site. Some people have put in a lot of time and effort and expertise to building the site! The planting guide in particular looks fantastic. Do you know the "Plants for a Future" organization in the UK (www.pfaf.org I think)? They have a similar plant database with many New Zealand natives included, lots of features, it may be worth checking out.
I must find out my precise soil type to use the database. I have 4 acres of river terrace in the Manawatu, there is a 20cm layer of top soil over several hundred metres of Tokomaru clay ....
