2003 Seaweek News Northland Seaweek Roadshow Supported by Nga Maunga ki te Moana Conservation Trust & Department of Conservation This year Seaweek falls between March 9th and March 15th . The theme is "Celebrate the Sea' For the second year in a row I am taking a seaweek roadshow to the community. The show is all about the marine conservation message and includes great visuals and media resources as well as a poster display, news of campaigns around the country, "how to do it stuff" etc. I've left the emphasis for the show up to local organisers at each venue, in some places it will be an open house set up where people are invited to come in and look at everything, talk to me and others, sit down and view videos etc. At other venues we have some structured presentations happening. I am happy to deliver presentations on marine themes or meet with interest groups or school groups at any of the venues. What you can do Come along to one of the venues and join in! 10/03/2003 Restoration Directory NZERN recently obtained funding from the Biodiversity Advice Fund to enable the publication & mailing of all 18 regional editions of the Restoration Directory. The directories will be mailed to everyone listed if at all possible. The various editions are currently being edited. Draft editions are being sent out to people willing to fill in the missing information. If you can help please contact the office.
10/03/2003 Pipi Update Tony Krzyzewski of Kaon Technologies www.kaon.co.nz has just completed an audit of the website to test for vulnerability to hacking. His time has been donated. This highly professional service normally costs $2,000. This has been a tremendous help as NZERN prepares for future live data sharing with other agencies. So thankyou Tony.
