1. NEWS FOR NZERN MEMBERS

This is the first Kereru for the year. Publication has been delayed by NZERN moving into additional ofiice and meeting space.

Restoration Toolbox Workshop to radically improve the web pages about native plants and birds, weeds, pests, ecosystems and soils will be held 9am-4pm March 9 2008 in Christchurch.

Any NZERN member is welcome to attend. Phone Mike Peters 03-980-0902 for more information. A phone conference will be available to include those who can't attend in person.

The plan is to consolidate all data, information and knowledge onto a single page for each species, soil type, ecosystem, ecological region or district. This proposal borrows many ideas from Wikipedia to simplify searching and would enable direct editing of all pages by all members using their password.

The meeting needs to list all issues that need to be solved, figure out the solutions, redesign the web pages and come up with an action plan to be carried out as by the end of March.
