1. NEW ON THE WEBSITE
NZERN Projects Members can help improve the quality of the www.bush.org.nz website by listing the problems, coming up with some solutions, testing changes to the webpages and giving feedback. So don't hold back, its important to do this well. The pace and priority of any changes will be set up the level of membership participation. If something really bugs you - make sure you participate.
http://www.project.bush.org.nz Current projects: Forum - ways to improve the forums. Keywords - the key to searching for information. Advertising Program - paid advertising to help pay for the costs of web hosting. Internet Radio - improvements to the internet radio station. The following projects will be added by the end of the year.
Restoration Toolbox - improvements to Planterguide, PlantGrow, BirdGuide, WeedGuide, SoilGuide. Regional Home Pages - local people taking control of their regional home page at www.bush.org.nz website by submitting, cataloging, and choosing the content to display. Kereru - improvements to the regular email newsletter including personalisation.
2. NEWS FOR NZERN MEMBERS
Have a safe and happy time over the holiday season. Thanks everyone who helped in 2007.
This is the last Kereru for the year. It will return mid January 2008. The office will be close on Friday 21 December and reopen in 2008 on Monday January 7. Password access may be unavailable for up to a week period during this time, due to a major upgrade to the server system (database). Information will be posted on the home page and login page. The next NZERN National Council meeting and AGM is 4pm, Sunday February 24 2008. Any remits have to be submitted one month before the meeting. Some important constitutional amendments are being put forward following the discussion at the last conference and will be posted on the website. The next annual National Conference is on October 17-20 in Christchurch. The working title is "Restoration and the productive landscape". The conference organiser is Simon Johnson. 18/12/2007
