One reorganisation alternative Author Mike Peters Prior Publication The Bush Telegraph Addington
This group of residents continuing to plant and maintain areas of native bush within
the suburb of Addington. Activities including a regular community newsletter Addington
Bush, monthly working bees, kids club and a holding nursery. Would own the "Eel Creek
Reserve" using the original constitutional arrangements.
Restoration Network
A democratic membership based network of formal and informal community groups
undertaking ecological restoration projects. The sole activity of the network being to
create, own and distribute shared resources that no individual group would be able to do
easily but that we all need in common. Eg: Kereru, The Bush Telegraph mailing list, Plant
Fact Sheets, Project Reports, Restoration Directory, volunteer pool. seed banks, web
sites, display material for borrowing, databases, field days, etc. A key outcome would be
the strengthening of many local groups with more volunteers etc and a reduction in the
wasted duplication of human effort in written material and research. The establishment of
this network may lead to productive mergers with other similar regional groupings as
members see fit.
Referrals
New volunteers would be passed on to local groups. Technical enquires to other
organisations.
