Restoration Day - Sandy Point - Otatara March 2005

Hi everyone
please see below the programme for our next Southland NZERN restoration event. You are welcome to attend the whole day or join us later. If you wish to have lunch please let me know so we can order enough and if you know of anyone who is not on the list and would be interested please invite them along (and let me know so I can add them to the list for next time).

Programme

10.30am meet at Sandy Point Visitor Centre - pool cars and travel to Sandy Point, Petries Track entrance where Robin Pagan, ICC Parks and Reserves will talk about the management and restoration of Sandy Point and lead a walk through restoration areas.

 

Noon-1pm Sandy Point Visitor Centre - lunch (provided)

 

1.15pm - 2.30pm Bushy Point Restoration Project (Bryson Road entrance) - walk around lead by Otatara Landcare Group - issues of restoration whilst managing grazing etc (Natural features/values/restoration/fencing/education potential/interpretation/potential tracks).

 

2.45pm Bowman Bush - Chilean Flame Creeper weed control demonstration using Organic Interceptor

 

3.30pm afternoon tea at the Southland Community Nursery
