NZERN will be able to provide web hosting for members by July 2005. This document
is an initial proposal for discussion on how NZERN might viably meet the costs
of doing this long-term.
Sources of income
DoC and MFE have shown no interest in covering the running costs of providing
this service. Therefore the costs will need to shared by members, donations,
sponsorship, grants and advertising.
Costs
There will be costs to cover including: power for the servers, bandwidth,
insurance, repairs and maintenance, rent, software upgrades, technical manuals.

Web hosting fees
Additional annual fees could be charged to members who require web
hosting to cover the costs of doing this.
