The Minister of Conservation is calling for nominations for 56 vacancies on
the 14 regional conservation boards. The Minister will have regard to the particular
features of land administered by the Department of Conservation within a board’s
area and the interests of nature conservation, natural earth and marine sciences,
recreation, tourism and the local community including the tangata whenua of
the area when making his appointments to each board.
Nominations are called for the following number of vacancies on each board:

Generally, appointments will take effect from 1 September 2005 and will be
for a three year term. Written nominations may be made by any person or organisation.
