Amberley Beach has lagoons and wetlands that are in need of care: Mimimoto Lagoon, Amberley Lagoon with extensive raupo wetlands and the Waipara River Mouth. Work is due commence on constructing boardwalks around Amberley Lagoon in July 2004 to facilitate access for weed control work.
  • Christchurch Ready Mix Ti Kouka Wetlands project.
Christchurch Ready Mix Ltd own a sand mining operation approximately 700m from the coast at Amberley Beach. As they finish mining in one area they are creating wetlands designed by Di Lucas. They have had a planting programme in place for nine years.
