Canterbury Restoration Day 2003

When
Sunday, Sept 28 2003

Location
Otamahua/Quail Island Island, Lyttelton Harbour, Canterbury

Ride the Ferry from Lyttleton, free of charge, and explore Otamahua/Quail Island for the day. Leave your planting spades at home to see and learn about the ecological restoration of Otamahua/Quail Island, the restoration of the old Barracks, a Lepers cottage, Shackeltons stables and dog kennels and much much more. Bring the kids, sensible walking shoes, food and hot drinks to supplement a sausage sizzle lunch. If you have display boards, brochures and other information about your restoration project, bring that too!

The Ferry departs for Otamahua/Quail Island Island from 'B Jetty' (where the Diamond Harbour Ferry operates from) Lyttleton Harbour at 9.30am and 1.30pm. Stay for the day and return at 4.40pm or stay for lunch and return at 1.40pm.

This event is sponsored by NZERN (New Zealand Ecological Restoration Network) and the Banks Peninsula District Council.

To find it, exit the road tunnel, head for Norwich Quay, follow your nose for about 300 meters, cross the 2nd over-bridge and then look for the Diamond Harbour Ferry signs to take you down onto the wharf and jetty.
