Templates of traditional Maori rock drawings will be available in Nga Taonga for visitors
to make crayon rubbings. These templates are from various sites throughout New Zealand and
an educator will be available to provide background information about the rock drawings.

Event: "While you're away"
Author Anna Rogers speaks about the New Zealand army nurses who served overseas in the
First and Second World Wars. Her talk, laced with quotes and anecdotes, will be given in
the Nurses' Memorial Chapel built to commemorate three Christchurch nurses who died
when the troopship Marquette was torpedoed in October 1915. Anna's book "While
you're away: New Zealand Nurses at War 1899-1948" will be published later
this year.
