Hi Gay The time limit thing. This is something Mike is working on. At the moment your session ie: the amount of time you have been in the login area, only lasts for 30 minutes (i think) after that you have to login again. This is for security reasons.

At the moment there is no way of requesting more time but this will come with upgrades to the user area.

Hi, Denise. Yes, I think you're right - it does make sense once you go there.

Do you have any answer to the time limit thing?? ie Should there be an active box for me to extend the time on if necessary ?

Cheers....Gay

Hi Gay

Good news about the bus trip around Southland. I heard from Edith - she said it was a great success. Apparently your commentry was really good.

Really nice of DoC southland to help with the costs of the bus hire.

Getting back to the forum messages being mailed out - I would suggest that this be optional. Some people don't go on the web often - but might want to follow any discussions. If they see a message they want to reply to - then they could log on and post a message to the forum.

I agree with being overloaded with email - the nice thing about this forum is not having to reply and also the same information can be passed onto who ever needs it.

See you

Mike

If you reply to the original message your reply will be listed under it.

You need to click on "Read Replies" to see the replies to other messages on the topic.

I think that makes sense!

Hi Mike.

To have all the forum messages coming through might be a bit overwhelming (a bit like what you're getting bogged down with!) Or do you mean it would just be e-mailed to you if you posted a query or response ?

The plus I think to start with it might get more people thinking about using the forum, as that does seem a little slow. Just talking with Edith today and she, I gather, hasn't been in to check things out, nor Chris, so unless they're using it, it's not an efficient way of communicating.

Just an aside. We had a good bus trip today around the reveg sites. Approx 35 people on board. It was great to have your funding backing up the costs and not having to worry about making food for catering. Thanks. Invoices will be coming soon.

Cheers......Gay

PS Rosemarie Smith said she should have an article in the Southland Times this week about it and Jenny Campbell is planning to put one in the Otago Southland Farmer at some stage.

Just a query, and once again it may be my old Netscape version giving me trouble here. At the top it says what time the session expires and asks me if I'd like more time. Often it seems I would but there's no active box there to tick yes ???? Am I missing something ?

Cheers......Gay

PS Not sure if it's in the instructions, but it seems you need to click on the original message to have your reply posted underneath it. Sorry - it's one of human natures bad faults to not read the instructions. I'm learning by trial and error (just what NZERN tries to be getting away from !)

Hi everyone.

Would people like to be able to have the forum messages emailed to them with a "reply to this message" link at the bottom.

Some forum programs have this - but it would need to be optional.

If you have a query you can post this onto the forum and other Pipi members can reply with advice from their own experiences.

The topics on the forum can include useful books you have read, congratulating people on a job well done, fundraising ideas etc.
